Soham Village College believe in delivering a curriculum that allows every student to achieve excellence and have the best opportunities in the future. We have been at the heart of the community for decades and many generations of families have trusted us to educate their children and help develop them into young adults. We are a ten form entry school and are proud to be the highest performing school in the East Cambridgeshire.

Our curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of the individual and is a constantly evolving model, allowing students of all abilities to thrive. We have outstanding academic provision in all areas and are particularly well known for the opportunities we provide in the performing arts. ‘The Hub’ is a our centre where additional needs of all students are coordinated and managed by a highly experienced and successful team. This includes making lessons accessible academically  all the way to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of any student who needs it. We place enormous value on developing the character of our students through cultural experiences, debates, the Duke of Edinburgh Award, extracurricular sports and clubs. Our pastoral system is woven into every facet of school life and every child is cared for and supported throughout their time at school. Our goal is for students to leave having not just achieved academic excellence, but having developed a wide range of skills to help them succeed as active, contributing members of society.

The true strength of the school is the relationships between staff and students. We are fortunate that our departments are led by experts with not just a passion for their subject, but a passion for students learning about it. Each subject has carefully planned their curriculum so that it is knowledge-rich, exciting, relevant and coherent throughout the 5 years students study it. This has been achieved through collaboration with other departments and schools and we are continuing to develop it all the time.

On the right hand side you will find a list of the departments at the school. Here you will find information about the departments ambitions for your child, an explanation of the curriculum and where it can lead as well as a detailed breakdown of what is being taught each half term.

If you have any further questions or comments about anything regarding about the school please contact us and we’d love to help.
