  • Eco-Schools Green Flag

    Students at Soham Village College have earned an international accreditation this academic year, recognising their amazing work in making their school more environmentally friendly and raising eco-awareness in fellow students.

    Eco-Schools is an international education programme that prompts young people to explore sustainability and climate change and take action.

    Students at Soham Village College collaborated with Mrs Wade to conduct an environmental review, assessing how eco-friendly their school is. They reviewed everything from the school’s recycling practices, to energy usage, to how environmental themes are covered in the classrooms

  • Christmas Parcels

    On 15 December, members of the Soham Branch of the Royal British Legion collected 50 Christmas parcels, which the Year 11 FLT students have made over the last few weeks.  The parcels will be distributed amongst the Soham Branch members.  The parcels include Christmas cakes, ginger biscuits, shortbread and a Christmas Card designed by Mia and Leo.  We’re looking forward to continuing our work with the British Legion in 2023

  • Britannica Magazine Schools Quiz Success

    After qualifying in a virtual competition against a large number of schools from across the country, Soham Village College’s team for the Britannica Magazine Schools Quiz went to London for the finals.

    They won the final 11-6 and were absolutely delighted to be named overall winners in the secondary school category winning £500 to be spent on non-fiction books

    Congratulations to the Soham Village College Girls’ Football Team who recently won the Girls EFL District Cup. The girls performances were outstanding, with 5/6 wins in the group stages only conceding two goals. They now go on to the Regional round on their way to the National Final at Wembley!

  • Soham Village College Debate Club

    Eight students from Soham Village College debate club were chosen to demonstrate their skills in front of Lucy Frazer MP. They each demonstrated their views through three minute debate speeches on the notion ‘this house believes that the voting age should be lowered to 16 years of age’. Lucy Frazer commended them on their intellectual arguments, thoughtful points of interest and presence whilst speaking. Two finalists, were chosen to represent the school in the next round at parliament where they will debate with other local schools
