The Home & College Association (HCA) is open to all parents and carers of students at the College. The association works hard to provide a variety of social and fundraising events, and there are many popular regular points in the school calendar, such as the Autumn Craft Fair, Christmas Fair, Valentine’s Ball, Indulgence Evening and the ‘100 Club’.
Many generous donations have boosted College life, such as the recent acquisition of outside canopies.
The HCA also provides a support service at parents’ evenings, for example, with refreshments and the sale of school uniform, as well as putting on educational events for parents to support their children, such as internet safety. New members are always welcome!
The HCA are very selective and organised when it comes to spending the fund monies and ensure that it is spent wisely for the general need of all areas of the College.
The commitment to provide Interactive Whiteboards, has been our main fund raiser for several years, and in 2007 we fulfilled our promise, and nearly every classroom at the College has one installed.
During 2008/2009 we have already helped with providing new curtains in Beechurst Hall as well as the new outdoor shelters, positioned around the campus.
In 2010 we have provided the school with money to purchase picnic tables, photograph boards to enhance corridors, new lockers for student use and plastic beakers for use at lunchtime.
If you would like to find out more or get involved, the Home & College Association meet on the second Wednesday of the month during term time at 7.30pm in the Community Lounge, Lodeside.
