Rhyhme and Rhythm
In this lesson you will develop an awareness of rhyme and rhythm within song lyrics and compose your own lyrics
Starter: Brainstorm terms and then play match-up quiz- Main Activity: Using worksheet read through verse and identify rhyming structure. Then read through the aims of the unit and finally write own lyrics considering differences between verse and chorus as outlines in the powerpoint slide.
- Plenary: Listen to examples of pupil work and idenitfy rhyming schemes used

Starter: Match up terms using worksheet or match-up quiz- Main Activity: Complete lyrics and begin composing backing track as outlined in lesson plan

Starter: List 3 favourite popular songs and give reasons for your choices- Main Activity: Structure of popular songs - discuss and display worksheet and then continue with composition work

Texture
In this lesson you will develop an awareness of texture used in pop songs and continue your group composition
Topic 6
Adding lyrics
In this lesson you will complete musical parts and fit lyrics to the music you have composed. You will also examine the advantages and disadvantages of using music technology to create songs

In this lesson you will develop and awareness and understanding of how videos can enhance dance/popular songs

Refine and Rehearse
